Ricecakes

Rice cakes, corn cakes and crispbread from Kallo, Clearspring, Biona and Ibis Rice.

Lightly salted, no added salt, thick slice, chocolate topped, yoghurt coated, and veggie cakes in beetroot, caramelised onion and spinach.

Rice and corn cakes are naturally gluten free — there's no wheat in either. Rye crispbread sits in the same collection and rye does contain gluten, so if that's what you're avoiding, the rice and corn cakes are the ones.

They're puffed under heat and pressure rather than fried, which is why they carry almost no fat. That also makes them bland on their own, which is the point — they're a base for something else.
