Toothpaste

Natural toothpaste from Kurin, Kingfisher, Aloe Dent, Sarakan and Urtekram — with and without fluoride, clearly labelled either way.

That's the choice most people come here to make. Fluoride has the strongest evidence behind it for preventing decay, and it's what dentists recommend. Some people prefer to avoid it, particularly for young children who swallow toothpaste rather than spit. Both are stocked and we don't take a side.

Fluoride free toothpastes generally clean using silica and gentle abrasives, and some use aloe vera or baking soda. Charcoal versions whiten by polishing rather than bleaching, so they lift surface staining but won't change the underlying shade of a tooth.

Sensitive, whitening and children's versions run across the range.
