Green Tea

Organic green tea from Clearspring, Clipper, Dragonfly and Pukka.

From everyday green tea bags to authentic Japanese specialties – including Sencha, Genmaicha, Hojicha, Kukicha, and pure Matcha – there is a brew for every mood.

Green and black tea come from the same plant, Camellia sinensis. The difference is processing: green tea leaves are steamed or pan-fired immediately after harvesting to stop oxidation. This preserves their vivid green colour, fresh, grassy flavour and naturally lower caffeine levels compared to black tea.

Brewing tip: Always use water cooled to around 70–80°C rather than boiling. Boiling water scalds delicate green tea leaves, releasing harsh tannins – which is usually why people think they don't like green tea!

A quick guide to Japanese varieties:

Genmaicha: Green tea blended with toasted brown rice for a nutty, comforting flavour.

Hojicha: Roasted green tea leaves that deliver a rich, smoky taste with almost no caffeine.

Matcha: Pure whole leaves stone-ground into powder, allowing you to consume the entire leaf for maximum nutrients rather than just an infusion.
