Olives & Antipasti

Explore organic olives and antipasti from Biona, Seggiano, Mr Organic, and Organico – featuring green and black olives (pitted and whole, in brine or oil), alongside artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomatoes, capers, roasted peppers and grilled aubergine.

How to spot a real black olive:

Naturally cured: Genuinely ripe black olives are brownish, wrinkled and unevenly coloured. Cured slowly in brine over months, they retain their true, rich olive flavour.

Artificially blackened: Jet-black, uniformly glossy olives are usually green olives oxidised and treated with ferrous gluconate (or lye) to turn them black in hours. They taste of very little – and the ingredients list always gives them away.
