Flaxseed
Milled and whole flaxseed from Linwoods and Just Natural, including blends with cocoa, berries, almonds and other seeds.
Flaxseed and linseed are two names for the same thing.
Milled is the form most people want. Whole flaxseed has a tough shell and passes through largely undigested, so you get very little of what's inside. Milling breaks it open.
The trade-off is storage. Once milled, the oils start to oxidise, so it wants keeping in the fridge and using within a few weeks rather than sitting in a warm cupboard for months. That's why milled flaxseed is sold in smaller bags than whole.
